On the second step of the maintenance policy creation wizard, you need to select databases that will be included in the policy.
System databases like master, model, msdb are not shown on the list. It is assumed that their maintenance is performed as part of one of the policies. Maintenance policy templates include tasks like database integrity checks and creation of backups of such databases as master, model, msdb.

By default, all templates include tasks for servicing system databases. Please bear in mind that the program creates several maintenance policies for one SQL server. In this case, after you create a second and subsequent policies, you should delete unnecessary database maintenance tasks from the QMB jobs. |
